Great news on a rainy NJ day, Rutgers fans! While the weather today seems to be the perfect representation of our feelings after a wholly forgettable 2-10 season, Coach Chris Ash and his team remain committed to cementing a better future for our Scarlet Knights. Thanks to their sustained efforts, 3-star athlete Atrilleon “Trill” Williams has pledged his commitment to the Scarlet Knights for the 2018 season.

A junior at Archbishop Stepinac in White Plains, NY, his high school team was quick to show it’s support of his decision:

Trill is the first hard commit for the 2018 season, and will make a great addition to the team with his strength and speed. According to his stats, he can run the 40 year dash in 4.43 and the short shuttle test in 4.40. A punt return seen in his highlight video below proves he will be a versatile player with experience playing both running and corner back. Our struggling special teams needs all the help they can get, and it will be exciting to see if he will provide the same explosive speed we saw in wide receiver and punt returner, Janarion Grant.

This is a big win for recruiting, and will hopefully be a sign of better days to come. Trill is a top 2018 prospect, and is currently ranked at #6 in NY by 247 Sports. In an interesting turn of events, he was also being recruited by B1G 10 leader Ohio State and former RU head coach, Greg Schiano.

Welcome to the banks, Trill! The Scarlet Knights community can’t wait to see you on the field.
