Coach Ash spoke to the media this evening after a rough 24-7 homecoming loss to Illinois. Coach pulled Laviano during the game and put in Giovanni Rescigno, who actually played pretty well.
Rescigno threw for a touchdown, Rutgers’ first since September 24. He threw another touchdown on Rutgers’ next drive. This time, though, he threw it to the team in orange whom took it 78 yards for a touchdown of their own.
It was a game where the offense had some kick to it and the defense played relatively well. In the end, they did not perform long or strong enough to emerge victorious.
Next week the Knights travel to Minnesota for another conference showdown.
