Winning five of ten bouts, the Knights could not overcome the Minnesota attack, dropping the match 17-16.
A critical win by 125 pounder Sean McCabe put the Knights up. leading to a dog fight the rest of the way.

A big time ranked matchup saw No. 4 Anthony Ashnault (now 18-2) vs. No. 12 Tommy Thorn with Thorn coming away with a solid 8-1 win.
Rutgers trailed by five gong into the final bout with Nick Gravina taking on the Gophers' Christopher Pfarr, needing a fall for the Rutgers win. Gravina scored a major win, 11-3, but it was not enough for a victory.
