2015 has been quite the year for Carli Lloyd. On her impressive resume, you can find tremendous accomplishments like 2015 World Cup Champion, WWC Golden Ball, and the first woman to score a hat trick in a WC Final. Now, you can add to that list "FIFA Women's World Player of the Year." Lloyd beat out finalists Aya Miyama of Japan and Celia Sasic of Germany to became just the 3rd American behind Mia Hamm and Abby Wambach to achieve such an honor. This award comes just days after Lloyd was named co-captain of the US team alongside defender Becky Sauerbrunn. Lloyd's head coach, Jill Ellis, also won Women's World Coach of the Year.
