Women's Soccer

Two losses and the polls make you pay the price.  After opening the season 8-0 and not allowing a goal, the Knights went on the road in conference play, allowed three goals, and saw their rankings drop.  After a scoreless first half, the Illini scored two goals, sandwiched around a Cassie Inacio goal, leaving RU on the short end of the score.  Goalie Casey Murphy had four saves.

The pain continued on Sunday as the Knights dropped a 1-0 score to Northwestern (9-1-2, 3-0-1 Big Ten).

Men's Soccer

Following a great win on the road at Indiana, the men returned home, dropping a 3-1 game to MSU.  The Spartans capitalized early, taking a 2-0 lead in the game's first seven minutes. Ryan Sierakowski put away his first goal of the game in the fourth minute taking a rebound off a saved shot by Michael Marcantogini into the left corner. Three minutes later, Sierakowski sent a cross to the center of the box for Ken Krolicki to find the back of the RU net.  Sophomore Miles Hackett tallied the lone RU goal.  Dave Greczek made five saves in goal for the Knights.

Field Hockey

The team dropped to 5-4 on the season, 0-3 in B1G play.  If there is any consolation, all the losses have been to ranked teams, the Wildcats ranked 14 at the time and the Wolverines 18.  In assessing the team's performance, coach Meredith Civico was frank.  "As we go forward in Big Ten play, every team that we play is going to be physical and aggressive.  I thought we didn't respond well to the pressure today (against Michigan). We need to look at these two games this weekend and find a way to rise above the pressure and play our game."
