Rutgers Football: ESPN's Outside The Lines & Leonte Carroo Updates

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

Tuesday evening, ESPN's Outside The Lines program hosted by Bob Ley, covered the recent issues with the Rutgers football program that have transpired over the last month.  There was a lot of rehashing of previous Rutgers athletic department issues, namely the Mike Rice scandal from 2013.  Ley discussed with panelists the responsibility of coach Kyle Flood regarding all of the recent issues that have occurred.  And of course, they brought Rutgers alum Ray Rice into the discussion.  OTL profiling the Rutgers athletic department again had most RU faithful holding their breath.  It was the same program that lit a spark to the fire that was the Mike Rice scandal, leading to multiple changes within the athletic department, namely the dismissals of Rice and Athletic Director Tim Pernetti.

Tonight's OTL did not uncover anything new or remarkable regarding the multiple investigations involving Rutgers football. The most interesting new development that came out today was this article by Ryan Dunleavy.  New information emerged regarding the incident that occurred Saturday night with Leonte Carroo.  This report by the Bergen Record claims Carroo acted by "picking her up and slamming her down on a concrete surface, injuring her left hip, both palms, left elbow and left side of the head."  The altercation reportedly began between two women known to Carroo, one of which Rutgers Student newspaper The Daily Targum reported as an athletic department employee.  In reference to the report on Carroo's role in the altercation, Dunleavy tweeted the below this afternoon:

And so the soap opera, miniseries, or horror movie, whichever you prefer to call what has become the 2015 Rutgers Football season, continues.  Stay with OTB for continued updates and follow us on Twitter @OTB_SBNation .
