This has been one hell of a fun month for Scarlet Knight fans. Starting with Anthony Russo's commitment on May 18, the Scarlet Knights have had nine commitments in 34 days.

Rashawn Battle (Wallenpaupack, PA) became the thirteenth member of Rutgers class when he accelerated his commitment schedule to join the Scarlet Knights. Choosing primarily between RU and Pitt, Battle originally planned to commit on his birthday, July 20, but after camping and competing at Rutgers yesterday, decided to make the call now.

Battle looks like the future at middle linebacker, and standing 6'3" 225 lbs, comes with the size and strength to combat B1G running backs rumbling through the middle with full heads of steam. Rivals rates him a 3-star prospect, and he also had offers from Pitt, Cuse, Temple, BC, Colorado State and Indiana.

Battle is the fourth linebacker to commit to the Scarlet Knights, joining Elias Reynolds, Jon Pollock, and Solomon Manning. This is a very strong group and a massive recruiting victory for Kyle Flood. According to multiple sources, these four players were the top 4 linebackers on Kyle Flood's board. Flood can now boast the top linebackers in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey.

Battle played coy for a while, but Rutgers fans knew this was a done-deal as soon as Coach Flood touched down in a helicopter on his school's football field this winter.

Welcome to the Banks Rashawn!
