Kyle Flood has kept the momentum going this month by adding the 12th member of the 2016 recruiting class. It was not long after receiving an offer that Damon Hayes, the 6'2" CB from Wise (MD) gave Flood his verbal.
New MD addition to the 2016 F.A.M.I.L.Y.!! #RFootball #RFamily #TheBirthplace #CHOPNation CHOP!

Although Flood was the first to officially announce the news, Todderick Hunt of NJ.com was all over the commitment and even hinted at it multiple times.
Hayes is in Flood's office, right now. Let's see what happens. Could be interesting.

Damon Hayes still at Rutgers. Hmmm...

Just asked Damon Hayes, who is still on campus, if he's gonna commit to #Rutgers, and he said, "Maybe."

Being a camp standout, Hayes, who had no other major D1 offers, fits the profile of Kemoko Turay and recent commit Justin Morgan. It is safe to say that Rutgers fans will gladly sign up for more under the radar stars like Turay and Hayes could be just that. Everyone in attendance at camp had high praise for Hayes, who was the best corner there and was described as being lock down. Hayes committing right after being offered showes his eagerness to be a Scarlet Knight and hopefully this translates into success. We wish Hayes the best in his senior year and can't wait to have him on campus again!
