According to Adam Zagoria, Johnson was having academic issues in regards to being admitted to Rutgers. Johnson was set to join a fairly impressive recruiting class including PG Corey Sanders, SF/PF Deshawn Freeman, SF Jonathan Laurent, and SG Justin Goode. Eddie Jordan still has a roster of 12 players, one short of the NCAA limit and can now save a scholarship for 2016.
