Assistant coaches Tia Jackson and Chelsea Newton have resigned their positions with the Rutgers women's basketball program it was announced today by head coach C. Vivian Stringer.

Jackson will be joining the Miami Hurricanes women's basketball staff, while Newton will become a part of the women's basketball program at the University of Georgia.

Newton wrapped up her fifth season as an assistant after playing for the Scarlet Knights from 2001-05. Jackson played for Stringer at Iowa and spent four seasons "On The Banks" as a member of the staff.

"While the news is indeed difficult to announce, I am excited for the new journeys in both Tia and Chelsea's careers," said Stringer. "I've known both of them since they were 17 years old and they have both set the standard as a student-athlete and as a coach. They are going on to other great things because people recognize their talents and skills."

The University announced that a national search would be conducted to find replacements.  On the Banks will follow up with additional news as it becomes available.
