Rutgers football recruiting: Update on '16 QB Jarrett Guarantano

New, 23 comments

The highly-touted prospect was on campus for an unofficial visit Wednesday.

Kyle Flood had a pretty important visitor on campus yesterday, as 2016 Bergen Catholic QB Jarrett Guarantano took in an unofficial visit to Rutgers. With Ben McDaniels' promotion to offensive coordinator, Flood's gameplan is most likely to have all of his offensive prospects get to know his new play-caller if they haven't already. Here are some tweets from Guarantano regarding his visit:

This is great news considering Guarantano said he really liked the Fridge on Twitter shortly after Ralph's retirement news broke. This is possibly even better news considering the blue-chip recruit stated that he would take "a few steps back with this recruiting thing." While recruits generally love all of their visits (understandable since coaches roll out the red carpet), Flood seems to be making enough of a serious push to put Rutgers in contention for landing Guarantano. Here are the latest predictions from the 247 Crystal Ball:

Just to clarify, Luke Zimmerman, JBirminghan, and Jeremiah Sharpe cover Ohio State. The Buckeyes are still in the lead at the moment for the 247 Crystal Ball, but Rutgers is quickly rising as a real contender.

Also, here's a bonus tweet:
