Game Day Links: Maryland at Rutgers

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

It's the final game day of the football regular season with Rutgers clinging to slight bowl hopes.  Win today against Maryland and Rutgers would finish 5-7, one win short of bowl eligibility.  However, if less than 80 schools qualify, Rutgers could possibly be selected, with APR supposedly a factor. Regardless, it's senior day and the last chance to salute this class!

There has been a lot of off the field news this week.  Rutgers landed their first commit for the class of 2017. Darius Hamilton announced he would be returning next season, regardless of who the coach is. Earlier this season, he said he would plan to come back only if Kyle Flood returned as coach.  Which leads us to an article from Keith Sargeant last night, indicating that Kyle Flood and Julie Hermann are fighting for their jobs.

As for the game, Rutgers is limping to the finish line with multiple injuries to key players. Flood discusses injuries and more in our news & notes column.

We spoke with SB Nation's Maryland site, Testudo Times, about today's game and the current state of the team. We also contemplated this week whether Maryland is actually our true rival in football now. Our staff is feeling confident about the game today.

Here is our game preview for today's game!

We review last week's Big Ten football attendance, including Maryland's poor showing on senior day. Here is our power rankings for the Big Ten heading into the last week. Here is the Big Ten preview and picks for rivalry week!
