Considering so many of you thought Narduzzi wasn't a viable option, you still did what I asked and voted for the person you would want. And he did get through to the semifinals. So here we are with the other half of the bracket.
Pat Narduzzi, Pitt, Head Coach
How he got here: In a fairly close vote, edged Robb Smith; sorry, Smitty, you stay in Fayetteville
Should I have put Chip Kelly on the list?
Chip. To. Rutgers.

Narduzzi is likely not leaving Pitt, but is he the kind of coach you want? Does he check off enough boxes that, at the very least, you can say bring in someone like him?

P.J. Fleck, Western Michigan, Head Coach
How he got here: beat out Everett Withers, the head coach of James Madison, the fifth seed in the FCS championship (told ya!)
His season is likely over, regardless of the outcome of its final game on Friday versus Toledo (and other semifinalist Matt Campbell). He has a 6-5 squad. But his team is No. 2 in the MAC in total offense. At least that's exciting.

And an idea that tops bracketology
Okay, I really like this one. Kinda like a draft.
We should have all FBS teams looking for coaching get together and pull names out of a hat. "Al Golden will be coaching... LSU! Congrats!"

A final thought
Rutgers plays its last regular season game on Saturday against Maryland. I can't believe I'm writing this, but it could have bowl implications. And that's sad. Most people reading and writing around here don't believe that a win Saturday should have any bearing on Kyle Flood's future at Rutgers; those folks - me included - feel that regardless of the outcome of the season, Flood has used up any good will he had and a change in football leadership is desperately needed. We'll have two names available for Monday when, if most of our desires pan out, the University will announce that Flood has coached his last game.
Next Monday: There might be other news that trumps it, but the finals will appear.
