Corey Sanders to Sit Out Men's Basketball Opener on Friday

1

Corey Sanders will miss the home opener this Friday due to his participation in an unsanctioned summer league game. Rutgers self-reported the violation and the NCAA approved the one game suspension. It was also announced that sophomore center Shaq Doorson will remain out indefinitely with a foot injury. That leaves Rutgers with nine scholarship players for the opener against Rutgers-Newark. Once Sanders returns for Sunday's game against Howard, Rutgers will have ten scholarship players for the immediate future. Not an ideal start to the season for Eddie Jordan's squad.
