Lorenzo Waters named to Associated Press All-Bowl Team

A strong Quick Lane Bowl performance landed Waters on the postseason honors squad.

Lorenzo Waters gets to end his career at Rutgers in style.

The senior strong safety was honored as a member of the Associated Press' All-Bowl team earlier today. His 14 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and blocked field goal in the Quick Lane Bowl enabled him to join six fellow B1G players on the postseason award list.

As a three-year starter in the secondary for RU, Waters collected 211 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, four sacks, seven pass break-ups, five forced fumbles, and two blocked kicks. As the 2014 leader in tackles for all defensive backs, Waters exemplified the Rutgers swarm mentality, supporting the run defense in addition to his duties defending the pass. He had some up-and-down moments this season, but he'll most likely be remembered for his fearsome hits while patrolling the field of play.

Congratulations Lorenzo, and we hope to see you playing on Sundays.
