Earlier in the week, word came down that Hackensack native and former Southern Miss wing Aaron Brown had been granted his release, and could transfer to play elsewhere as a fifth year transfer. Brown is 6'5" and a 39 percent shooter from beyond the arc.
Brown has made his way around schools too, starting at Temple, then transferring to Southern Miss.
Southern Miss transfer Aaron Brown is considering BC, Minnesota, Oregon, Rutgers, Iona, Southeastern, he tells @SNYtv. Visits BC tomorrow

There are rumors circulating that URI and Boston College are very interested, but no one is sure if URI has a scholarship open. Plus, could a player transfer to another A-10 school without sitting out a year?
Meanwhile, more people are saying Brown is strongly considering Rutgers. If Rutgers can get him on campus for a visit and then land him, he'd fill a major hole. He'd probably start and add another 3 point shooting threat to the floor. Being a senior who's been through some wars (Southern Miss won 29 games last year). He would make a difference. Rutgers fans need to keep their eye on him.
Meanwhile, in stunning news, Jon Rothstein dropped a blockbuster tweet last night:
2015 PF Horace Spencer (Findlay Prep) will take an unofficial visit to Rutgers on Thursday, source told @CBSSports.

Spencer is a stud power forward, one of the best of the 2015 class. UNLV appears to be chasing him hard, and Seton Hall is on his list as well. Rutgers getting a visit is pretty big, especially since I'd never heard rumors Rutgers was even recruiting him. Check out his highlights below... and look who dances with Sanders at the opening of the video. It's Corey Sanders, the point guard Rutgers is chasing hard. (Note, according to Adam Zagoria, Spencer may have visited today.)
Spencer appears to be a beast. Hopefully, they can sell Spencer on NBA coach Mike O'Koren's experience with big men. If nothing else, the new recruiting staff has brought some top prospects to campus to visit. They've made the recruiting game fun again. Now, Eddie Jordan and company just need someone to pop. It feels like maybe the dam is ready to break
ALSO, Eddie Jordan took the ice bucket challenge today and nominated his staff: Shoes, Van and O'Koren.
