Rutgers Football Recruiting Commit Alert! LB Trevor Morris

Rutgers picked up another Class of 2015 commitment from Malvern (Pa.) Prep lineback Trevor Morris.

The Star-Ledger-USA TODAY Sports

Malvern, PA lineback Trevor Morris was on campus today for an unofficial visit, and concluded the trip in the best possible way - by getting an offer from Kyle Flood and committing to the Scarlet Knights on the spot! Malvern is a well respected program, playing in a tough conference. Malvern is coached by former Rutgers standout linebacker Aaron Brady, who recently stepped down as the head man at Washington D.C. power Gonzaga to take a job in his home state.

Morris is a 6'2" 200 lb. outside linebacker, who had ten sacks and one interception during his junior campaign last year. He boasts a 4.5s 40, which if true, is incredible for such a big body. He closes on ball carriers in a hurry, and is a sure tackler. He is also very athletic when dropping into coverage. Check out the play starting at 0:40 in his tape: he drops into coverage, sees the QB is running with the ball, closes the gap and drops the QB like a lion on a zebra. The sack at 0:18 is also particularly impressive. Given his quickness, he seems like a great fit for the Scarlet Knights defense.

The tape is here.

Morris had offers from Buffalo, James Madison and Ohio.

Welcome to Rutgers and congrats Trevor!
