Rutgers Football Recruiting Commit Alert! Manny Taylor

Rutgers picked up its fourth OL commit in the 2015 class, when Philadelphia's Manny Taylor committed Monday.

Kyle Flood has been on a roll lately, picking up the fourth commitment in five days.  Rutgers now has four committed O-linemen (3 from PA) after Philadelphia Roman Catholic High School's Manny Taylor committed this afternoon.

Taylor is a behemoth, with relatively little football experience, but tons of hoops experience.  Rivals lists him at 6'7" 285 lbs.  He will use that long frame and basketball footwork to play on the outside of the line, at tackle.

Taylor attended Rutgers Big Man Academy last weekend, and apparently impressed enough to earn an offer. As Todderick reports, he was being recruited (for basketball) by St. Peter’s, ttfp and UVA.

This is reminiscent of Zach Heeman last year, in that we have a huge kid with relatively limited football experience, but years of hoops athleticism and seasoning.  Heeman is shaping up to be a very nice find for the staff as he finishes high school and gets ready to go to RU, and hopefully Taylor can follow in his footsteps.

Welcome to Rutgers Manny!
