Washington State Opener Set for 10 p.m. EST

New, 20 comments

Rutgers will again kick off a season on the West Coast, and play into the early hours of the morning.

Last year, Rutgers kicked off the season with a 4.5 hour marathon loss at Fresno State.  The game went into overtime, and the teams combined for 103 points.  Rutgers had to deal with smoke blowing through the stadium from nearby wildfires, and it was over ninety degrees with 25% humidity at kickoff. Apparently, the Scarlet Knights had so much fun in that ridiculous environment they want to do it again this year.

Per Ryan Dunleavy, the Knights 2014 opener in Seattle vs. Washington State will start at 10 p.m. EST on Thursday, August 28.

Fox Sports 1 will provide the TV cameras, but the coffee (or other beverage) necessary to stay up well past your bedtime is on you.
