Rutgers announced that the University and women's basketball coach C. Vivian Stringer have reached an agreement that would keep the Hall of Fame coach on the RU sidelines for the next four years.
The 66-year old Stringer is actually taking a base pay cut to around $700,000. But the contract is heavily loaded with incentive payments such as increased attendance, championships, and NCAA appearances.
The University press release quotes AD Julie Hermann in saying of Stringer, "It's a privilege to have our iconic hall of fame coach lead our program into the Big Ten Conference. Watching her steer our young team through the WNIT to a title is a sign of the foundation she has laid for our future success."
