Sunday Knights NFL week 8: Mohamed Sanu has big day for Bengals

Big Mo did some damage on the ground as well as through the air.

Andy Lyons

Sanu led all Knights in the NFL once again, although Freeny and Johnson had good days as well. Here's the recap from week 8:

Kenny Britt (WR, St. Louis Rams)

Tough day at the office for Rams QB Austin Davis, who was sacked seven times. He was still able to find Kenny Britt though, as the veteran wideout finished with two catches for a team-leading 52 yards. Britt also led the team with five targets.

Marcus Cooper (CB, Kansas City Chiefs)

Arrowhead Pride reported that Marcus was benched in favor of Jamell Fleming due to two reasons: subpar play from Cooper and Fleming showing promising signs in practice. Coop returned to the lineup and notched one tackle in a win over the Chiefs' regional rival, the St. Louis Rams. He will most likely be splitting time in the secondary unless he returns to form soon.

Jonathan Freeny (LB, Miami Dolphins)

Freeny only played in seven defensive snaps during last Sunday's win against Jacksonville, but he made the most of his time. He finished with three total tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and one QB hit. His play could have helped him gain more playing time.

Khaseem Greene (LB, Chicago Bears)

Bears Coach Marc Trestman turned to Christian Jones in favor of Khaseem Greene for Sunday's game against the Patriots, preventing his reuniting with Rutgers North. Greene has been struggling recently and could be looking at less playing time as the Bears continue to work out the linebacker unit.

Duron Harmon (SS, New England Patriots)

Harmon continued to split reps in the Pats' defensive backfield. He finished with one tackle.

George Johnson (DE, Detroit Lions)

Gorgeous George has made himself into quite the find for the Lions. He had another solid outing on Sunday morning in London, as he finished with three total tackles and one tackle for loss.

Jason McCourty (CB, Tennessee Titans)

ESPN blogger Paul Kuharsky gave his game ball to Jason McCourty for his efforts in limiting Texans WR Andre Johnson to seven catches for 55 yards. McCourty's play forced Ryan Fitzpatrick to look away from his favorite target. Jason finished with four tackles and two pass deflections.

Devin McCourty (FS, New England Patriots)

Devin contributed to a Patriots secondary that limited Jay Cutler to 231 passing yards on Sunday. He finished with three tackles.

Logan Ryan (CB, New England Patriots)

Still in a reserve role, Ryan is progressing nicely as a split-time defender for Belichick's Patriots. The Pats ran a lot of nickel coverage on Sunday against the Bears, and that led to more playing time for Logan. He finished with four total tackles.

Mohamed Sanu (WR, Cincinnati Bengals)

No one is questioning the value of WR A.J. Green, but it would behoove the Bengals to get Mo Sanu the ball as much as possible. He's playing like a number one receiver right now and just makes plays when he has to to move the offense. Check out some of the plays from Sunday:
