Connecticut Week

Only two games left -- can Rutgers reach bowl eligibility?

Jared Wickerham

Three weeks ago, this looked like a layup for the Scarlet Knights. Connecticut had not won a game yet, and while Rutgers was far from perfect, it wasn't really a question as to who was the better team. In college football, your luck can change that quickly. Two straight blowout defeats (three in the last four games), and it looks like Rutgers football can never find the bottom of this downward spiral. Will it end Saturday in East Hartford?

It's actually kind of amazing this game will be broadcast on TV, considering Rutgers and Connecticut have two of the worst offenses in the country. Come to think of it, the defenses are terrible as well. Should be an all around ugly game, but what else would a Rutgers fan expect after Thanksgiving? As much as I want Flood gone, I'd hate to lose to the Huskies, so let's at least hope that the Scarlet Knights win ugly.
