Houston Week

Rutgers suddenly has an outside shot at the BCS.

Thomas Campbell-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome back from the bye. Rutgers emerges from the week off a little lighter on the roster, and the most anticipated game of the season is now behind us. How will the team respond knowing that the spotlight is squarely off the plot of land sitting on the banks of the Raritan? Sure, UCF is still a key matchup, but a shot at the BCS is close to nil and there is very little momentum carrying the Scarlet Knights through the last half of the season. Can Kyle Flood get Rutgers to finish strong, or will the players lose the fire and limp to a mediocre bowl bid? We'll find out more on Saturday when a formidable Houston team enters High Point Solutions Stadium on Homecoming.

Houston is by no means an easy out. Especially now with Rutgers hurting at cornerback, the high-flying Cougar offense will be looking to do some damage against true freshmen Nadir Barnwell and Anthony Cioffi. With a lackluster schedule left to play, it'll be easy for the players to simply pack it in and look to the B1G. With Louisville's loss last Friday, there remains an outside chance for the BCS, and that might be all that's left to motivate the players.
