Committed Players
Des Peoples is off to a good start.
Ruhann Peele is playing RB for Linden.
He's made tremendous strides," Candia said. "He scored a 1020 on his SAT in June. He went to SAT prep classes and worked really hard. He just has to maintain his grade-point average right now and he will qualify. He is right where he needs to be.
From the same site, it'll be Rutgers vs. Rutgers at Rutgers on Sep. 9 when Montclair and Julian Pinnix-Odrick play St. Peter's Prep and Michael Giacone. Warning - link seems like it could die at any moment.
Steve Longa and Saddle Brook are expecting a big season.
Uncommitted Players
The Ledger ran a nice feature about NJ DT Darius Hamilton.
Nothing Wayne Morgan is saying really makes a lot of sense.
He'll probably have a new list tomorrow, but for now there's good news on NJ CB Yuri Wright.
He then stated that he feels very strongly about Rutgers and Cal.
RU is on '13 NJ LB Buddy Brown's early list. '13 NJ DE Garrett Sickels is planning his trips. Ohio State is interested in '13 NJ CB Eli Woodard.
'FL OL Duaron Williams is still looking at RU. Does he still fit in the class now with scholarships at a premium?
'13 FL RB Adam Lane, the younger brother of D.C. Jefferson, will miss time with a broken ankle.
It's nada from JUCO TE Blake Jackson.
'13 QB Ryan Burns keeps getting a lot of pub in the D.C. press.
PA OL Josh Stepoli moved to North Carolina.
RU offered Philadelphia-area HS freshman John Reid.
Will controversy destroy Miami's recruiting class? Hard to say at this point.
SyracuseFan and The Boneyard left the Scout.com last weekend. Some mixed feelings here. The Scout management isn't exactly competent, although Scarlet Report is a notable exception, and Brian Dohn should be able to do a lot of good as a regional analyst. The SU and UConn sites think they were sold a bill of goods by Scout - which may well be correct, but you also understand Scout's reasoning in not devoting many resources to the two sites. They don't get much traffic, and SU and UConn aren't exactly recruiting powerhouses in football. How can you report on UConn's football recruiting when Randy Edsall is signing players nobody ever heard of? The SU site is mad about Matt Alkire leaving, which is fine, but some of the paranoid comments SU fans posted about Dohn are incomprehensibly dumb. Dohn isn't a Mike Farrell/Bob Lichtenfels type with no qualms about steering recruits to a particular school.
NJ S D.J. Singleton committed to Wisconsin. NT DT Jarron Jones, a former PSU commit, committed to Notre Dame.
Watchlist: This is a section of this site's weekly recruiting posts featuring links to players that Rutgers may or may not be showing interest in, but has not yet offered.
