It's the perfect game to play during finals.
Fairleigh is 3-5 and got beat up by UConn. RU is looking to push their home record to 6-0.
But after three sluggish starts in a row, can the Scarlet Knights right the ship on the offensive side of the ball? Will the killer instinct they showed in the first three home games return?
More on the game after the jump...
Under head coach Greg Vetrone, FDU most recently lost to Iona. Vetrone is trying to rebuild the program after Tom Green was let go. This season they haven't had much to build on, only beating Central Connecticut State (by 2), Longwood, and Bryant.
They are lead by Mike Scott, a senior guard, who's averaging 16.3 points a game. He's one of 3 seniors on the roster.
In the last game against Iona, Junior Nate Gibbs lead the team with 13 points.
FDU is not a good team. They haven't hung in too many games, though it seems they gave NC State a run in Raleigh only losing by 10. As usual, though, the NJ schools often come to the RAC loaded for bear. They know Rutgers is supposed to be down this year, and they see it as an opportunity to pull a shocking win.
If the Knights give the best effort they can, they should win going away. But, if they're distracted by finals and come out sleep walking, this could be a Fred Hill style nip and tuck affair.
Be interesting to see how the Scarlet Knights respond after a quick turnaround. The game begins at 7:30 on Tuesday. Come out to the RAC!
