Supposedly another offer went out over the weekend to Red Bank's Jack Tabb.
It's clear that Andrew Campolattano is a great high school wrestler, but is he the best in the country?
He expects to play linebacker in college and said he’s already made phone calls in
hopes of persuading other recruits to join him at Rutgers. Will it be possible to wrestle at Rutgers as well?"I think the option is still there," said Bound Brook coach Kevin Carty. ""They recognize the situation of the talent Andrew has. I think it would be wrong for anybody to say he couldnever wrestle again."
That would please wrestling coach Scott Goodale, but might not be possible considering the sport's weight requirements.
Roxbury OL Angelo Mangiro told State of Rutgers that he is considering Rutgers.
"I work out at Sports University with guys like Connor Wujciak and Savon Huggins, who is there sometimes. We once talked about how it would be to all attend Rutgers. That’s probably the one time that I have spoken about it with any other recruits," Mangiro said.
Everybody wants St. Peter's RB Savon Huggins.
"I have about 45 to 50 offers right now I think," he said. "I might even have more at school, it's been a few days since I have checked. Georgia and Ohio State are a couple of the most recent ones to offer. Wisconsin and Nebraska too. Rutgers, Penn State, Georgia, and Florida are coming hard right now. Pitt, Stanford, and North Carolina are as well. I'm just happy with my offers, most schools are already interested so there aren't really any other schools I'm looking to hear more from."
New Jersey speedsters Miles Shuler and Damiere Byrd will be visiting Michigan's spring game. I was surprised to see that Brian Cook said that both are high on Michigan's list year. Not for a lack of talent, but neither has been really linked to the Wolverines.
With scholarships at a premium this year, Penn State has dropped Seton Hall Prep DL Connor Wujciak.
Wujciak won't be at Happy Valley anytime soon. But, he visited the Eagles about two weeks ago, Rutgers on Monday, and he plans to see Pitt this weekend. He's also receiving quite a bit of attention from Cincinnati.
"It was nice," Wujciak said about Rutgers. "I went to practice and met with the coaches. I've been there a bunch."
PA RB Jameel Poteat isn't necessarily scared of competing with Dion Lewis and Ray Graham at Pitt.
PA CB Terrell Chestnut has lived through tragedy.
ESPN's J.C. Shurburtt checks in with updates on Angelo Mangiro, Deon Green, and Keith Lumpkin. Lumpkin just visited South Carolina.
New York LB Quentin Gause is maintaining a recruiting diary for Penn State ESPN affiliate Nittany Record.
FL QB Jacoby Brissett remains open.
NY DT Kieran Borcich chose BC over Rutgers. That would normally be a major loss, but fortunately the '11 DL class is very deep. PA OG Kevin Reihnert committed to Stanford, although I'm not sure whether he had an offer.
Watchlist: Louie Addazio, Deion Barnes, Cameron Dickerson, Desimon Greene, Kevin Grooms, John Loughery, Dylan McDonnell, Evan Mulrooney, Nick North, Shawn Oakman, Chris Polony, Brandon Robles, and Andrew Zeller.
