Great, just what we needed: the Associated Press is cribbing from the Record's terrible report from this morning. The headline is "Sales of Rutgers football tix lag", and the first line is "Football fever has apparently cooled at Rutgers University." Despite the fact that A) the waiting list news is over a month old, and B) season ticket sales are actually UP, despite price increases in a bad economy and an awful home schedule.
Amazing. Ticket sales are up, when they've dropped at other programs all around the country, and Rutgers is the one who somehow gets picked on. It only takes one salacious report to go national and drag everyone through the mud. It's outrageous for the wires to not bother doing their homework before picking up stories.
