So, when is Jawaun Wynn going to make his big announcement?
"I think I’m supposed to be making my decision sometime in August," Wynn said in a recent interview. "I haven’t narrowed it down yet. I’m just still looking at the schools that have offered and just weighing my options. I think I’ll probably just call the coaches whenever I’ve got my decision. Like I said, it’ll probably be sometime in August."
However, Wynn will be on campus again Monday.
Stumpy brings word (scroll down), that Rutgers has offered 2011 Neptune tailback Charles Davis. There were a couple Jarrett Darmstatter mentions in that chat, but no updates on that front.
Sharrif Floyd named Rutgers in his new top 6.
While Floyd does not have any top schools right now, he was asked what schools are in "good shape" for him.
"Penn State, North Carolina, Rutgers, Boston College, Ohio State, and Michigan," he said.
GoUpstate has more on Chas Dodd.
"Chas was frustrated that he wasn’t getting recognized by colleges as much," Bentley said. "But Rutgers said that he was the best passer that they saw in camp and appreciated that his technique was so good."
He also looked sharp in the recent Palmetto State Showdown. South Carolina tailback Marcus Lattimore also has plans to visit Rutgers with Dodd on an unofficial in late July.
Sun Sentinel: Marcus Thompson is the 20th best prospect in Broward County, FL.
Malcolm Yowk is favoring Stanford and Rutgers.
"I would say that they’re my favorites just because they’ve offered. I have an idea which two I like the most but I don’t want to say which. It’s just been what they’ve been able to offer. I mean, all of them have good coaching staffs. It’s just what they can offer academically and on the field."
Yowk said there was a slight chance that he could make an early decision but he will most likely wait and take a couple of official visits this fall. He is targeting the end of his senior season for a decision, though he admitted that could change.
A small blurb in a Michigan article says that Jamaal Jackson is favoring the Wolverines.
James Louis camped at Rutgers recently, but RU isn't one of his four favorites. Here's a small update on Brian Robinson:
DB Brian Robinson (5-11 190) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL is holding eight offers right now including one from USC. Some of the others are Rutgers, Tennessee and Miami. Robinson said Florida State, Purdue and Wake Forest are also very interested. Robinson said he's looking to learn more about USC. His only camp activity this summer was at Rutgers. He does not have a favorite.
Hooray, Rutgers made Ego Ferguson's top 21!
Scout is showing offers out to T.J. McCullough and Jamal Allen, but I'm not adding them yet. Could Khairi Fortt soon commit to PSU? He's not naming RU as a favorite. Even though RU made his top five, Brandon Ifill will choose between Michigan and Maryland. Aquinas's Keion Payne grew up a FSU fan, and the Noles also lead for Tampa CB Terrence Mitchell. Miami leads for CB Devont'a Davis. RU didn't make Terrence Brooks's top 5.
Joe Brennan committed to Wisconsin.
Watchlist: Zach Greenwald, Zach Hundertmark, E.J. Johnson, Dino Mancinelli, and Marc Mauro.
