Good news on Chris Fonti.
"I’m still talking to Rutgers," he continued. "I went down there for a weekend to tour the campus and do all that stuff. We went to the weight room and all that. Now I’m going to their camp so they can work with me a little more."
In fact, Fonti went on to say that Rutgers is "probably" his favorite at this point, but he wants to wait a while before he makes his decision.
Phillips added that he hasn't started to narrow down his list and that he's interested in some other schools that have not offered yet, such as Ohio State.
Additionally, the 6-foot-2, pass-catcher is planning a Midwest tour this summer, "I want to visit a lot of schools this summer. 'm looking at the Big Ten, but I haven't visited any of them yet. I'll get out to some Big Ten schools this summer."
Jordan Thomas has a top five.
Oregon State, Rutgers, UConn, Pitt and Syracuse.
Adam Zagoria profiled Bennett Jackson last week for Rivals.
There aren't many specifics in the new James Kittredge article.
Michigan State is supposedly paying more attention to New Jersey, I think this article is mostly hyperbole though.
Joe Brennan now has an offer from Miami, and his comments sound like Art Forst's from two years ago.
"I want to continue to grow spiritually at the school I choose," he said. "I am a big believer in God and I want to make sure that I can grow in that department. That will be another thing that I am considering for my school."
Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, West Virginia, Rutgers, Pitt, Miami, Florida State and Clemson made the cut.
Brown's high school coach, Danny Algeo, said, "They're all good schools. He's not going to make a bad choice with any of them. We've always though he was a special player, and the fact that he's in the Northeast and so many schools in the South are recruiting him says something about the kid."
"We're looking for a school that cares about him as a person as much as it does a player - a school that will help him take care of business and graduate," the coach said. "That's one of the things we were looking at this morning - graduation rates."
Tarean Austin recently sprained his ankle, but avoided serious injury. Darius Millines is blowing up, with offers from Florida and Miami among others. Dang. At least we know that Jenkins can spot them before the power programs do.
The Miami Herald breaks down all of the big names in Florida.
The PSU Rivals publisher predicts that PSU will land, among others, Sharrif Floyd, Kevin Haplea, and Khairi Fortt.
Sounds like Keion Payne will go to Miami. Zach Allen was expected to commit elsewhere yesterday, but decided to hold off for now. Russell Bodine committed to UNC. Kenny Wilkins will soon decide between Michigan and Pitt.
Sherard Cadogan and Dontae Johnson both have a fair amount of offers now, but nothing from RU yet. Apparently Rutgers is showing "varying degrees of interest" in Johnson, but he said a while back that he's originally from Virginia, and that (me speculating) might be a factor.
