4/14 Recruiting Update

Bennett Jackson now has a RU offer.

"I got offered by Rutgers on Friday," Bennett Jackson said. "My coach and I got invited out for a little tour and to watch practice and after talking to Coach Susan and Schiano I found out I had an offer."

Sharrif Floyd recently visited South Carolina.

Floyd said he's been offered by USC, North Carolina, Syracuse, Rutgers, Penn State, Boston College, UCLA, Stanford, Maryland and Florida International. He plans to attend Penn State's spring game, and he said he might come back to USC for a game this fall, or for an official visit. He does not have favorites.

Scout.com recently evaluated Jamaal Jackson.

Jackson seems to always make the first man miss, follows his blocks and has a good burst. He runs with vision and instincts and is a shifty and elusive back that can be very hard to bring down because of the balance he shows. Despite his lack of size, Jackson can take a hit and find ways out of tight spaces. He likes to get off tackle and use his speed on the perimeter and is also a very good return man. He will need to add weight.

Doug Rigg now has an offer according to the Rivals database, while Scout is saying that that Florida linebacker Zachery Allen has an offer, as well as Darius Millines (who ESPN said had an offer a month ago, but I missed it at the time).

It'll be interesting to see whether Rutgers picks up a commit or two at the spring game. The spring evaluation period is also starting soon.

The NCAA allows all schools to send seven coaches per day out for 20 days in the spring. This is the time when coaches can actually see the prospects in spring drills, pick up highlight tapes and transcripts of each prospect, and obtain phone numbers, addresses and several other key things.

That should occupy the staff after spring practice ends, and of course this is the time of the year that the camp circuit starts gearing up.

I don't have my hopes up with Kyle Baublitz; he's not showing his cards yet though.

The Oregon fansite Ducks Attack recently spoke with Mark Leal. Ivan McCartney will visit Rutgers this summer. Rutgers didn't make the top 7 for Cody Riggs. Chris Dunkley is cocky. Rutgers isn't a finalist for Lynden Trail.

Nothing so far from Tavaris Barnes.

Kadron Boone is another Florida star who everyone's after.

Arie Kouandjio was at UConn practice over the weekend.

Watchlist: Kai Dominguez, Quadir Pendleton, and Blair Wynn.
