4/7 Recruiting Update

Chris Fonti is trying to garner interest.

"I still have an offer from Rutgers, nobody else has offered quite yet," he said. "I’m busy taking visits. I went to Penn State recently for their junior day and visited Rutgers as well.

"In two weeks I’m going down to visit Florida and Miami and then I’m coming back and stopping through North Carolina and NC State. Then I’ll head to Connecticut’s Blue White game."

Corey Brown wants to take more visits during the summer.

Brown has not visited any colleges in the past month, and is not even sure about impending spring games.

"I’m not sure about going to any spring games," Brown said. "I have to check dates. I want to go to Florida, Alabama, Ohio State and West Virginia."

Khairi Fortt is touring campuses.

"This past weekend I went up to Connecticut, next weekend I'm going to Penn State and then the following weekend I'm going to Notre Dame," he said. "Connecticut was nice. I liked how the coaches treated me. I spent a lot of time with Coach Edsall."

Athlon Sports named Shakim Phillips as one of their top receivers for 2010. They also think Rutgers is in good shape with Sharrif Floyd.

Stumpy has more on Bennett Jackson and Jarrett Darmstatter. With an offer from Notre Dame, Jackson is now officially in the "why haven't we offered yet" zone with Phillips.

According to Scout's database, Pittsburgh DT Aaron Donald added a Rutgers offer. The header for a premium article about 2011 QB Tanner McEvoy indicates that Rutgers has offered. The Rivals DB shows that Maryland lineman Shane Johnson has an offer.

Louis Young has withdrawn his commitment from Stanford.

Aquinas RB James White

has offers from Tulane, Princeton, BC, Rutgers, NC State, Iowa, Michigan State, South Florida, and Wisconsin. He is also hearing from Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida International. White plays for St Thomas Aquinus which finished number one in the country last year. "We've got a lot to live up to," he said. " We have to prove we deserved it."

Still no love from James Louis.

Ari Kouandjio's handshake will blow your mind.

Uh oh

Antwon Chisholm, a highly recruited running back from Glades Central, pulled a knife on a security guard at the Mall at Wellington Green on Thursday. The school is aware of the incident but is staying relatively quiet.

Chisholm, 17, was one of nine people arrested after a brawl in the mall’s food court at around 4:45 p.m. The fight stemmed from an earlier argument at Wellington’s community pool, mall general manager Dorian Bodenave said.

That same blog has info on De'Joshua Johnson, and other Pahokee prospects. Rivals has a video interview up with Cody Riggs. No RU mention there.

Watchlist: Charles Brown, Ibn Crenhaw, Mitch Devall, and LeMont Wims.
