Undoubtedly, the glut of 8 and 9 win teams (I don't know how much effort other voters put into this) works against RU's chances of making the top 25. With the way that the Scarlet Knights were playing at the end of the season, they deserve to be here.
I'm not particularly concerned with the specifics of a playoff and various other BCS minutae. I think we need to acknowledge that there's no one size fits all system that will satisfy everyone. Bill James is right - the BCS is a shaky, retroactive attempt to validate the accused AP and Coaches polls. That being said, my ideal solution is ad-hoc. Some years, a plus one game is all that's needed. This year would have necessitated a four team playoff. In some years, there will be little debate as to the best team.
