There will be a Q&A with the excellent Pittsburgh blog Pitt Blather posted here at some time during the next few days.
Storyline #1: Rutgers has won three straight games against Pittsburgh.
Kenny Britt isn't going to be the only imposing physical presence lining up at receiver this Saturday. Jason McCourty needs to be scared of Jonathan Baldwin.
There's some confusion among Pitt fans this week, as Dave Wannstedt inexplicably burned quarterback Pat Bostick's redshirt in garbage time against Navy.
Rutgers men's basketball was picked to finish 12th in the Syracuse Post-Standard's annual media poll (released on the eve of today's BE media day). Getting back to MSG is progress, right? (everyone gets to go now) The Big East looks absolutely stacked this year. With Inman on suspension, Fred Hill apparently decided to send Farmer and N'diaye to New York. Does he not want Chandler to get a big head?
Aditi had some additional details yesterday on the upcoming bid to sell the naming rights to RU stadium. Good to see that fan support is still running strong.
The branding possibilities in the stadium aren't too shabby, either, as even in this disappointing 2-5 season, Rutgers spokesman Jason Baum said some 700 new in-season deposits have brought the season ticket waiting list to roughly 12,500. Nelligan said any Rutgers sponsorship agreement would include tickets, year-round advertising at all Rutgers athletic events and rights to sell products and services to the university.
USA Today just ran a great profile of Jeremy Zuttah.
A certain coach in South Orange better watch his words carefully.
Oh, there were a few shots fired at Rutgers and St. John's -- without naming them, of course. He was asked about negative recruiting tactics against his program and managed to turn his answer into his pitch against his local competition.
"I could sit here and say there's a couple of guys in the metropolitan area who don't have winning records who got extensions -- I'm not knocking them," Gonzalez said, after knocking them. "I'm just comparing. I could say there are guys who haven't proved themselves by having no postseason wins."
Courtney Locke is doing well, as she recently was hired as an assistant coach at UCF.
