9/9 Recruiting Update

Antwan Lowery visited Florida over the weekend, which has me especially concerned. I've both read that Glenn Carson visited PSU, and that he did not make the trip due to the weather, and am still trying to get to the bottom of that. Carson is expected to visit Notre Dame this weekend, even though they're not believed to be a major player for him.

Rutgers may have offered running back Cory Akins out of Florida. I'll post more information when it becomes available.

2010 RB Corey Brown has picked up an offer from Michigan, and more are likely on the way. How did he enjoy his visit?

Brown attended a game on Monday and was able to take in some of the other action across the country over the weekend.

Did anyone impress him with their performance?

"I went to the Rutgers-Fresno State game yesterday and I had a good time," Brown said. "It’s always a shame when the team you went to go see loses but it was a good game. I talked to Greg Schiano a little but he mostly talked to my mom. I did talk to their running back coach, Coach (Gary) Brown. He’s a really cool guy.

The Trentonian has more on Brown. Speaking of Brown/Savage over the weekend:

Corey Brown exploded for five TDs, three on the ground (7-130) and two on passes from Tom Savage.

Has Anthony LaLota dropped us?

LaLota is expected to make his college intentions clear in the coming weeks, with Michigan and Penn State believed to be his current top two choices.

Rutgers has interest in Florida LB Conor O'Neill, but isn't in his top 3.

LB Conor O'Neill (6-1 195) of Fort Lauderdale, FL has decided on three of his official visits. And Clemson will be his first trip on September 13th when the Tigers play host to NC State. It will be his first trip to Clemson, and his parents might come with him. O'Neill will visit Auburn September 20th and Wisconsin October. 4th. O'Neill said he does not have a favorite among his top three. "The deciding factor will me my official visit," O'Neill said. "It's how I get the vibe. When I pick my school, I want to make sure I don't jump the gun, that it's the right school." This week O'Neill has had phone calls from Clemson recruiter David Blackwell and recruiters from Auburn, Syracuse, Colorado State and Florida State. He has offers from Clemson, Auburn, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Purdue, Syracuse and Miami of Ohio. He's also hearing from Florida State and Ohio State. Last season O'Neill had 67 tackles with 16 for loss and seven sacks.

Palmyra WR Quron Pratt only has a Duke offer, but is still is a name to remember.

"Rutgers, Pittsburgh and Temple said they will be coming to my games. They are interested."

Immaculata HS lineman Cody Bohler (the same school as Theo Riddick and Mark Brazinski) is still looking for more offers.

"I have offers from UCF, Temple and Army," he stated. "I’m continuing to get letters from USF, Virginia, Michigan, Rutgers, West Virginia, Connecticut, Tennessee and UCLA."

According to this article, Rutgers has offered 2010 Florida TE Gerald Christian. Yahoo Sports has more.

According to Christian he has written scholarship offers from Wisconsin, West Virginia, Florida International, Boston College, Rutgers, and Georgia while South Carolina and Florida have offered him verbally.

"Wisconsin was the first to offer. If there was one team that stood out I would say Florida but I really haven’t settled my mind on anyone with recruiting. Right now I have no favorites but I would say like the all the schools that have offered me."

Another class of 2010 player from Florida with an offer is RB/CB Antwon Chisholm. That makes at least five known offers for the 2010 class, with Chisholm joining Brown, Christian, Delaware lineman Gifford Timothy, and Connecticut linebacker Khairi Fortt. More offers are probably already out to next year's class, especially in the NJ area. Stay tuned.
