A good reason to post on Saturday

Doomed I tell you, doomed!

Malcolm Bunche, a 6-6, 315-pound defensive end/offensive tackle, became the 20th member in Rutgers' incoming class for 2009 when he gave the Scarlet Knights a verbal commitment on Friday, according to Rivals.com.

Bunche, from Newark (Del.) High School, is rated a three-star defensive line recruit by the scouting service.

Tommy Savage visited practice on Friday, with junior teammate Corey Brown in tow.

Can true freshman Art Forst make an impact this year?

Cappie Pondexter is looking to bring home the gold in Beijing.

Ray Rice on his first NFL game.

Davon Smart is making a crowded situation at safety hard to sort out.

How does Fresno State coach Pat Hill hang with BCS programs every year?

AAD Kevin MacConnell confirmed internet reports that Rutgers has guaranteed Kent State $750,000 for a game in 2012.

"By 2012, $750,000 will probably be less than the going rate," MacConnel said of Rutgers' hefty payout to Kent.

Rutgers still needs a Championship Sub-Division opponent (formely 1-AA) to complete its 2012 schedule, MacConnell said.

The 2012 schedule at the moment may possibly include games at Fresno State, at Navy, and at Army, with home games against Kent State, and a I-AA opponent.

A quick run down of our future OOC schedules:

2009: @Maryland, @Army, I-AA Home

2010: UNC, Army, I-AA Home

2011: @UNC, Navy, @Army, I-AA Home

2012: Kent State, @Fresno State, @Navy, Army, I-AA Home

It's believed that the series vs. Navy will take a breather in 2009-2010. I hope that another respectable series can be added to replace Navy, but that's easier said than done at this point.
