News is still trickling in

Wayne Warren was the only freshman who supposedly was on the shelf yesterday. No one expected Scott Vallone to play this year though because of a leg injury. Now he too is being listed as injured. The good news however is that he may be ready in a matter of weeks. LB Eric LeGrand is also being given a look at DT. This has been speculated before because of his size. I don't think we have great depth at LB though, and I'd rather leave him at LB given our current lack of depth at that position.

Also, buried in a couple of yesterday's stories was the news that #23 has finally been issued. While looking through the 2008 press guide recently, I also learned that Will Gilkison now has a job with the team's support staff.

Players are saying that the strength and conditioning program has been taken to another level.

The early returns on Bines at DT are promising, but it looks like Alex Silvestro will start. What, you didn't actually think that Schiano would start some DTs with some size, did you?

Tom Luicci takes a closer look at Manny Abreu. Keith Sargeant on D.C. Jefferson. The SL also talked to our new punter.

If Zaire Kitchen can ever stay healthy, he may compete for a starting job at safety. Glenroy Lee appears to have fallen down in the depth chart.

Former Red Bank Catholic Head Coach Frank Edgerly has been named as RU's new director of recruiting operations. DigitalSports.net has a good feature on this.

Former walk-on Tommy Fischer has landed at Montclair State.
