Notre Dame to Join ACC

Multiple sources are reporting that Notre Dame is bringing all sports to the ACC as full time members, with the exception of football, which will play five ACC teams annually. No matter how you feel about Notre Dame, their influence in the college football world is undeniable, and this is a big get for the ACC, who should be in great position to bring Notre Dame in as a complete member should they decide to end their football independence. This is also a huge final blow to the Big East going forward. UPDATE: Apparently this ups the conference exit fee to $50 million. Hi Florida State, our name is Syracuse. I hope you don't mind us putting this poster up on our side of the room. Want a t-shirt?

Syracuse is moving to the ACC in 2013

The BIG EAST Conference and Syracuse University today announced that both organizations have reached an agreement on Syracuse's departure from the BIG EAST and move to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Greg McGarity Has Your Back

Preserving the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry is his top priority, but, if need be, he is open to discussing a nine-game SEC schedule. Go 'Dawgs!

SEC Announces Changes to Baseball Tournament

The Mountain West tried to get Houston and SMU

It appears Craig Thompson was being proactive about expansion. In hindsight, the worst thing the Mountain West ever did was sign their TV deal. It's dooming the conference.

Big East Coast Bias: Football-Driven Expansion Is About To Happen

For basketball purposes, Houston, SMU, and UCF are poor replacements for Pitt, Syracuse, and West Virginia, but you and I know that's not what this is about. Boise State and San Diego State are set to come aboard for football only. The Aztecs are likely to join the Big West in other sports, which refreshingly makes geographic sense, even if such a move is a competitive step down. There's no word yet on where the Broncos would park their other sports. Air Force is also a possible addition, though they have the same conference issue as Boise. Navy, which has no such issues thanks to its place in the Patriot League, could also join. More info and analysis when things become official, as there are sure to be more dominoes falling. Be sure to check out Mountain West Connection's take on this too.

Mountain West, Conference USA and Big East to talk about Super Conference

Reports are circulatting that the commissioners from the Big East Conference, the Mountain West Conference and Conference USA are to meet Wednesday to discuss the formation of a 28- to 32- team super conference to try to gain automatic Bowl Championship Series status. The Mountain West and Conference USA already have agreed to merge by either next year or in 2013 and the recent developments concerning the Big 12 invite to West Virginia could play a major factor in the Big East giving it serious consideration.

Missou/SEC

Remember June of last year when Deloss Dodds said "we didn't start this, but we will sure end it." Good job there. K-State fans find all of this highly irrational and illogical.
