Sweet Sixteen Night Two Open Thread

Tonight upstart Marquette will battle UNC in Newark. Marquette will need contributions from everyone to stay in it. Kansas goes up against a 12 seed in Richmond, as Chris Mooney can take any job opening in the country if he can get another huge upset. Ohio St meets Kentucky and will try to keep their roll to the Championship game going. And finally defensive minded Florida St will need to slow VCU and their great guards. Comment on these games in the thread below.

After a great opening weekend, the NCAA tournament picks up with the Sweet Sixteen tonight and tomorrow. The UConn SDSU and BYU Florida games have a lot in common as it's one player (Kemba Walker or Jimmer Fredette) taking on great teams. Does Walker still have gas left in the tank? We asked that question last week and the answer was a resounding yes. Don't bet against him tonight. Butler plays the defensive minded Wisconsin team tonight. Meanwhile, two teams who have survived tough battles take on each other in Duke and Arizona. Can the Wildcats stop Kyrie Irving and Nolan Smith? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts below.

Now it's on to Day 2. Highlights today include Tennessee against Michigan and Marquette vs. Xavier. Local New Jersey team St. Peters makes its first appearance in the dance since '95 taking on a tough Purdue team. The highlight of the day for me has to be Villanova vs a hot shooting George Mason. Lots of questions for 'Nova in this one. Can they right the downward spiral they're in? Will Corey Stokes be able to play the entire game? Lots to chew on. Enjoy and and share your thoughts below.

Well, here we go. Day 1 on the two greatest sports days of the year starts now. Get some wings, pop open a beer, and grab the remote because it's time to watch some college basketball. This year entire games will be aired on four different networks, so there's plenty to watch. Day 1 has some real intriguing match-ups, like Old Dominion taking on Butler, the defensive battle of Michigan State and UCLA, and St. John's vs. Gonzaga. But the match-up I'm most interested in is Princeton against Kentucky. Can a senior laden, great shooting Princeton team knock off a highly talented, but VERY young Wildcat team? Feel free to chime in with your thoughts.

NCAA Tournament: Picking Your Bracket
Note: this is from Dave.
I have never won a bracket pool.
Often, I'm out after the first weekend. But that doesn't mean my strategy isn't sound. In fact, when applying how I pick a bracket to my picks, the strategy usually works, it just pops up in the wrong games.
So, here's how I pick my bracket...
Right after the jump...
