Five commits in five days. With this class, Rutgers tends to add talent in machine gun bursts. The latest addition to RFamily is Jacksonville, FL WR Rashad Blunt, who has been interested in Rutgers for some time, and who committed while on an unofficial visit to campus Sunday.
Rashad Blunt is a 6'2" 180 lb. playmaker, with great ability to go up and get the ball, and nice balance to recover from less-than-perfect throws. Putting it "bluntly" (couldn't resist), this is huge. Rutgers has a desperate need for athletic receivers, after failing to sign one in last year's class. Blunt and Wednesday commit Dontae Owens (similar frame at 6'1" 180 lbs) are the first WR commits since Janarion Grant committed in January 2013. That's scary, but our long drought appears to be over.
Blunt is a great addition, and he caps a tremendous recruiting weekend for the Knights. He is the 16th commit in the class of 2015. Check his highlight tape below. I really like his ability to make plays after the catch, and his nasty run blocking.
WR coach Ben McDaniels and DB coach Darrell Wilson were his primary recruiters, with a big-time assist from Blunt's friend and fellow Jacksonville-ian Kam Lott.
Welcome to Rutgers Rashad!
