DJ Foreman Commits to Rutgers

Rich Schultz

The 2014 forward is a big get.

Eddie Jordan continues to impress on the recruiting front. One of the big questions for Jordan coming in was about his recruiting prowess.

But today, that question is about to go away.

First broken by Adam Zagoria, and later confirmed by others, top 2014 forward DJ Foreman committed to RU today. Long and a lefty, it's expected Foreman can swing between power and small forward. This, along with JUCO guard Bishop Daniels, is the second commitment for Jordan's 2014 class.

Foreman appears to be a big time get. He had offers from multiple high major schools and chose Rutgers over Pittsburgh, Minnesota and USC among others. Another interesting fact was apparently he'd caught John Calipari's eye and Kentucky--who had yet to offer--was interested.

Depending on what happens with JJ Moore transfer waiver request, the Scarlet Knights have either one or two scholarships left.

While Jordan continues to recruit, the next step is seeing how Jordan coaches. Most have taken his coaching acumen to be his strength, but it has yet to be seen on a college floor. Jordan needs to develop players, and take advantage of the veteran team he has. The quicker Jordan wins, the quicker he can turn Rutgers into a Big Ten force.

But, after a dark few weeks at the end of the Rice era, it appears there is light at the end of the tunnel.
