Piscataway, NJ - Rutgers was with one midway through the second half. They never got he lead,a key point in the momentum of the game and Drexel went on to post a 70-59 victory earning a trip to New York . The Pre-Season NIT contest was a physical one. "I kept telling our guys it is physical but keep making basketball plays," Rutgers coach Eddie Jordan said. "They (Drexel) are a veteran team, they stayed poised, ran their stuff and made plays. We are in a learning stage."

Tavon Allen of Drexel led all scores with 21 points. All hit some big shots to extinguish the second half Rutgers rally.
Kadeem Jack had a commendable 13 point 10 rebound night for Rutgers.
Drexel did a nice job staying with Myles Mack off pick and rolls. Mack scored nine points on three of seven shooting.
