Message board scoops next Rutgers president
Kudos to the Rutgers issues forum on Rivals, which is probably the best authority on the net for Rutgers and New Brunswick related issues (put lawmatt in charge of Rutgers admissions, and bob-loblaw in charge of DEVCO; thanks in advance.) Posters there have been hinting about the presidential search for weeks, and today they collectively broke the news that Robert Barchi is going to be the next university president. Click through to the link to read all of the fun rumors about the search. With Barchi's background at Thomas Jefferson, this selection seems like a clear indication that the UMDNJ merger will move forward in New Brunswick at the bare minimum. Rutgers is going to use their resumption of control over the occupied Rutgers Medical School to turn the university into a medical research powerhouse; one capable of giving a major shot in the arm to the state's vital life science and high technology industries.
