After months of rumors, the Mobile Food Vendor Policy Committee (how many universities have one of those) has finally come to a decision. The Grease Trucks are not necessarily gone, but they will have to face the free market. Parking lot and mobile food licenses will be put up for public bid, which does make sense considering the amount that Rutgers has had to subsidize the Grease Trucks with in recent years. Has Rutgers made any changes to its RFP system lately? From personal experience, it is very difficult and unwieldy to use, which might be a significant complication here.
