Dave Cohen to Rutgers as LB coach confirmed
Tom Luicci reported this as a possibility earlier today, and now Cohen is confirming it.
That makes the staff:
HC: Kyle Flood
OC: Dave Brock (will likely coach a position as well)
QB: ?
RB: Chris Hewitt?
WR: ? (rumored Rob Spence)
TE: ?
OL: Damien Wroblewski
DC: Robb Smith?
DL: Phil Galiano?
LB: Dave Cohen
DB: ?
S/T: ?
In addition to Brock, another assistant will probably double up.
As far as recruiting territories go, conceivably Rutgers could still use a North/Central Jersey recruiter, and maybe some candidates from Maryland and Eastern PA.

Busy day
But your doing a helluva job on keeping everyone up to date. Im good with the Cohen hiring, not sold on Brock but maybe he can work some magic with a better talent base.
Brock
I am a bit nervous about Dave Brock as well. I admittedly don’t know anything about him personally, but the information on the net is not generally favorable when describing his skills as an OC. I guess we will just have to trust that Coach Flood knows what he is doing.
Wroblewski
I can see Wroblewski doing double duty with the OL and the Run game. He did this at U-Del. That also frees up Hewitt to go back to the Secondary which is where he coached and played at.
running game coordinator isn't RB coach
the OL and RB coaches will be separate, doesn’t mean those two can’t double up elsewhere though.

Need some Sparkplugs!!!
We need some high energy young coaches like Fleck and Demarest from years past. Those are the types that get the guys riled up. Hoping that Flood IDs some of those types as well. Having experience is great but not sure the players will get too pumped with a bunch of greybeards trying to get them fired up.
Do we really miss GS?
Does anyone think we will miss GS and his assistants?
Clint Hurtt
This is a bit of a pipe dream but what do you think the chances are that we could pull him from L’Ville?
This guy is a recruiting machine and his D’lineman look like they love playing for him. Look at some of the recruits he’s pulled in over the past 5 years or so. Ray Ray Armstrong, Marcus Forston, Sean Spence, Tommy Streeter, Travis Benjamin, and Teddy Bridgewater to name a few.
This is somewhat to RU-Nick’s point but I think he would be that kind of sparkplug and top shelf recruiter that Rutgers will miss with Hafley and Anglicho gone.
Another name that intrigues me is Brennan Carroll. He is the son of Pete Carroll, played TE at Pitt, spent 7 years at USC as a TE coach, and has been the TE coach and recruiting coordinator at Miami for 2 years.
Other names that sound interesting (to me at least):
-Darrell Wilson
Former RU RB coach ‘99, current Iowa LB coach and NJ, PA, MD recruiter
-John Lilly
TE coach at Georgia, former TE coach and recruiting coordinator at FSU
-Billy Gonzales
Part of Urban Meyer’s staff at Utah, former WR coach and recruiting coordinator at Florida, and WR coach at LSU. Unfortunately just signed on with Illinois as co-OC.
I really like the idea of getting those “sparkplug” type coaches/recruiters from big time schools preferably with connections in Florida and PA. There’s a lot of future star Rutgers players in those areas just waiting to be found.
