Kyle Flood is RU Football's Next Head Coach
Despite snags with Cristobal, RU selected its next head coach with relative ease. IMO, Flood has been very professional about putting himself in this position. He helped bring calm to RU Nation after Schiano's departure. And, he made it fairly easy to negotiate a contract quickly even though he could have leveraged the post-Cristobal chaos.
I'll end here because Jon will Izenberg this better than me. But, use this post for discussions.

I like the hire
He is a great recruiter and HS coaches around the area love him. He should help solidify the recruiting class and has the potential to be an awesome coach

Awesome, glad to hear my brother is sticking with RU, it’s a great fit and I can’t wait to support him and the team.
Pete Thamel
of NYT states better for headline to be “Rutgers hires Flood” as opposed to “Rutgers rejected by Cristobal”.
"Jon will Izenberg this" - hilarious!!
I’m content with Flood. I view this as maintaining all the inroads that Schiano made in the State of Rutgers. Something to be said for having stability from one regime to the next.
I am hearing that Flood will make a strong push to get Fuller to flip his commitment
I am also hearing that Toal loved the move as did JPO’s coach. Hopefully Darius commits and JPO re-affirms his commitment. Of the other three on the fence (Longa, Lambert, and Giancone) none of them have said anything yet. I think they all return to RU

Darius is down to Miami and Rutgers and will announce tomorrow at 8PM on Quick 60 on MSG Varsity
When I asked him who is his favorite he told me “to tune in tomorrow and find out”. He said his decision has been made and he can’t wait to announce it

im quite literally drowning in word play
HELLO HELLO MR WILPON... BUY THAT MANSION. WE DONT NEED A CONDO.
Word play...
…in whcih case let Kyle’s tenure forever more be known as “…the time of the Flood”.
Pretty bad, I know.
Under the circumstances I believe this is a good hire. I would like to know why he was lower on the list than Cristobal.
