That is from the man himself on Twitter. This news capped off a difficult Sunday, as Old Tappan quarterback Devin Fuller, who had been thought to be favoring Rutgers before Greg Schiano's departure, shocked everyone by picking UCLA. Fuller, a sensational runner, was not an ideal fit for the Rutgers offense, but it always hurts to lose a top local guy. Fuller represented a top prospect for down the road. Arguably, Savage's waiver to transfer back to Rutgers hurts more, as he would have made a difference in 2012. Erratic QB play held Rutgers back from winning a Big East championship in 2011. Youngsters Gary Nova and Chas Dodd have an entire offseason to work on getting better, but Savage could have stepped in from day one and seized the starting job. This announcement presumably ends the chapter of the most heralded, hyped recruit in the history of the program. It's too bad, but this is the final consequence of Kirk Ciarrocca wrecking the offense. Now the program can finally move forward. Nova or Dodd will be the top options under center next year. Mike Bimonte will probably need another year or two to learn the offense, and incoming freshman Blake Rankin is a solid running threat.
