Rutgers/Cincinnati gamethread

Cincinnati Bearcats at Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Jan 28, 2012 6:00 PM EST

The up and down season for Rutgers continued with a brutal loss to DePaul earlier in the week. As to this one, your guess is as good as mine.

now the boxscore is showing 6 for 12 for the game, rather than 6 for 15… shutting up now

So far no announcement that he will be the official head coach
#Rutgers interim head football coach Kyle Flood said there’s 7 recruits at the basketball game tonight.

More Head Coaching stuff

This tweet clearly shows he has not been hired as the HC

Flood on his interview to be the HC “I thought it went very well. I was excited to go into it. I’ve been excited through this whole process”

Interim head coach Kyle Flood: “I would say I’m a big advocate for hiring [a head coach] from within [#Rutgers].” #RFootball #rufb

And some more

Well this is some fantastic news
Flood “The response of the recruiting class has been tremendous…Everybody that’s been with us from the beginning is still committed to us”

More Flood quotes
Flood “When somebody has turned down the amount of opportunities coach Schiano has had you’d think he’s going to continue to turn them down”

Rumor at the RAC is that Flood will be announced as the new head coach after the game

Here is another quote from Flood

Flood “My message to the recruits & the players has been the same throughout. All the reason they committed to #Rutgers is still here” #rufb

Probably my last quote to publish - More very good news
Flood on if he’s concerned about Schiano taking #Rutgers coaches to TB: “The coaches that are on staff now plan on being here.” #RFootball

Sugam just keeps on coming with these tweets
Kyle Flood: “I have received a tremendous amount of support from the players…Just support for #Rutgers football.” #RFootball #rufb

is Rutgers actually in the bonus before an opponent or is that a typo on the boxscore?

In the category of things we shouldn't even have to say

I never want to see Biruta try and dribble the ball behind his back again.

Hopefully Seagears isn’t hurt too bad.

FWIW, I sat between two huge defensive linemen (freshmen this season, not recruits) and they both said they wanted Flood to get the job, and were shocked by the Schiano news.
