Rutgers vs. DePaul: Big East Basketball Preview
Rutgers returns to the RAC to take on the DePaul Blue Demons Wednesday night. The Scarlet Knights are coming off a 2 pt controversial loss to Georgetown and are looking to get back on track.
Keys to the game after the jump...
1. Break the Press: DePaul presses. They press on every made shot. If Rutgers' guards can break the press, that'll lead to easy run outs and easy baskets. Rutgers is going to be able to score big time in this game, as long as they can get the ball over half court.
2. Limit Turnovers: That's not to say DePaul's press isn't good. It is. In every game I've seen them play, they've been able to force turnovers for their own easy baskets. When the press works, they're able to erase deficits or build leads quickly. If the young guards get flustered, DePaul could be ready to shock the Scarlet Knights.
3. Defend the rim: The only time, it seems, that the Blue Demons don't press is on their own missed shots. If RU can keep DePaul's shooting percentage low--and this goes without saying--the Scarlet Knights should win.
4. Dane Miller, Dane Miller, Dane Miller: Looking for a few highlight reel dunks.

It’s not about the number. It’s about whether or not the band let’s the fans get into the game.
It isn’t a concert. It’s a basketball game.

Must win
If we want any chance at an NIT, and not that the big tourney shouldn’t be an awesome goal to aim for, we have to win these games because we all know how tough the road in the BE is. Hey, if RU plays anything like they have been playing, they should be fine, but there’s no room for error here in the BE. No time for slumping; pack the RAC!
