The Mohegan Sun has offered a financial deal to the Big East, which also according to these sources is far more beneficial to the league than what the XL Center is physically able to deliver.

Let's get this straight. The Big East has an opportunity to make more money on women's basketball. The Big East cannot exercise that opportunity because half of its members, most of whom don't even care about the sports, are throwing a temper tantrum. The Big East is in no position to even turn down a penny of revenue! Anyone else think that the the opposition is less grounded in morals, and more in their steadfast determination to keep shackling the BE's all-sports programs to an outdated, unfair model from three decades ago that was dangerously flawed and workable from day one onwards? Time for the forward thinking athletic directors like Tim Pernetti and Oliver Luck to tell the dead weight to scamper off into the Athletic 10, because this level of unfathomable self-sabotage is not even remotely acceptable. The BE's non-football programs are free to run their athletic departments as they see fit; it's when their actions impact others, when they're directly harming the other half of the league through this kind of self-centered garbage, that's when the gloves have to come off. If the non-football schools aren't careful, sooner or later they are going to overreach (i.e., Villanova as a FBS program) so far that the league will crumble to smithereens, and they will be left with nothing. No one ever accused the Big East of ever showing any bit of foresight.
