Chris Muller lands at Rutgers
Call it Keith Lumpkin insurance. Rutgers signed two top-ranked linemen last year in tackle Keith Lumpkin and guard Kaleb Johnson, with defensive tackle Marquise Wright a strong probability to flip to guard after arriving on campus. Developing big linemen is always a tricky possibility. Lumpkin is considered an extreme boom-or-bust prospect, being very raw with limitless potential depending on how his frame develops. Adding another top recruit like Chris Muller certainly ups the odds in RU's favor. Considering that Rutgers is still heavily recruiting Long Branch tackle Ryan Brodie, a close friend of Miles Shuler, and one has to feel good right now about the program's future at tackle after a few lean years. TE coach Brian Angelichio recruits Eastern Pennsylvania to Rutgers, so he deserves a good portion of the credit on this one. With an assist to PSU of course, who reportedly saw their attempt to pressure Muller into committing backfire. Let's hope this is the start of a big weekend with RU's recruiting camp rolling into full swing
